Can I nominate a person or group for an award?

Yes, we would love you to. If you know an outstanding individual or group and you think they deserve to be recognised at the Spirit of Salford Community Awards please nominate them.

How do I nominate someone for an award?

You can put forward someone for an award either through the nominate now page on this site or through writing to the following address: Spirit of Salford Community Awards, Policy & Partnerships, Salford City Council, Salford Civic Centre, Swinton, Manchester M27 5AW.

Can I nominate the same person or organisation in multiple categories?

Yes you can. The nominations page on our website allows you to select more than one awards category when entering. Please do think carefully about which categories are most suitable for the person or organisation you wish to nominate.

How do you decide who wins an award?

The Citizen of the Year, Community Group of the Year and Public Servant of the Year Awards are decided by a public vote. The winners of all the other awards are decided by our panels of judges.

Does the person or group I nominate have to be based in Salford?

Yes please, with one exception: nominations for Public Servant of the Year need to work in Salford, but they do not have to live in the city.

What is the deadline for nominations?

4 December 2022.

When and where are the awards held?

On Thursday 23 March 2023 at the AJ Bell Stadium, Barton upon Irwell.

Who pays for the awards?

Salford City Council’s contribution to the awards is funded by the council’s mayoral team: the City Mayor and the two Deputy City Mayors. All 3 members of the mayoral team give up some of their salary to fund the awards.

We also accept offers of sponsorship from partner organisations in the public and private sectors.
