Award categories
The Spirit of Salford Community Awards celebrate the individuals, community groups and projects making a difference across Salford.
There are ten award categories. Take a look through the categories below to find the right one for the person, group or project you would like to nominate.
Nominations close at 11.59pm on Sunday 6 December 2026.
Awards decided by public vote:
The winners of the following three awards will be chosen through a public vote. Voting will open in January 2027 following the shortlisting process.
How these awards are decided
After nominations close, the judging panel will select the finalists. The winners will then be chosen through a public vote opening in January 2027.
Awards decided by judges:
The winners of the following seven awards will be selected by a panel of judges.
- Best Child Friendly Project
- Young Person of the Year
- Volunteer of the Year
- Good Neighbour of the Year
- Best Health Achievement
- Best Environmental Improvement
- Best Community Safety Project
How these awards are decided
After nominations close, the judging panel will select the finalists and winner for each category.
The finalists will be announced ahead of the awards ceremony, with the winners revealed on Thursday 18 March 2027.
