We are delighted to announce the winner in the Best Health Achievement category.

Aspire 2 Age Better

Aspire 2 Age Better provides support for those living with dementia and older people. The volunteers have been inspired by their own experiences to work hard to ensure everyone can age well and has the support they need during difficult times. They run activities, social groups, and support groups from the Humphrey Booth Resource Centre, providing hours of social interaction, emotional and mental health support, and helping people remain active and independent.

Tetyana Checkley

Tetyana CheckleyTetyana has started an art group that takes place at Broughton Hub every week. As a self-taught painter, she had felt how producing art was good for her health and wellbeing and decided to help other people improve their mental health and to use art to tackle loneliness. Tetyana is a brave and inspirational person working on important health issues.

Headway Salford

Headway Salford

Headway is a charity that does vital work supporting people living with brain injuries and their carers and families. They were nominated by a resident who points out the amazing work they do and the valuable social activities they provide, which gives people living with brain injuries the opportunity to socialise and provides their families and carers with vital support and opportunity for respite.

Mature Movers

Mature Movers

This group has been running for over 15 years and meets weekly to perform locally in care homes, day centres and community events. The ladies give their time to give back to their local community and each other. The group is described as much more than just a dance class. They also do so much for each other, looking out for one another, as well as entertaining people in the community.
